Addressing the Psyche and Soma

After years of coaching clients through diets and movement, I found a common problem in the fitness industry. No one was addressing the ENTIRE person. In fact, no one was addressing the REAL problem. Every program was fitness-focused and the diets were restrictive and unsustainable. I started Mindful Movement to help people welcome a new way of being; release old stories and physical/emotional pain to heal fully. Stop the abusive diet cycles and negative self-talk. Our physical bodies will keep the emotional score - our bodies will hold onto stress, anger, trauma, sadness, etc. These stored emotions will manifest in the body - through symbols, in my case I developed an autoimmune disease. The physical and emotional bodies are one. In my experience, most high achievers do not want to acknowledge, bring to the surface, or look at their emotional pain. To look at yourself as in “pain” may feel weak, ridiculous, or untrue. We would rather take care of others, achieve, and find worth through work or service to others. I understand, this is safe, this is what we learned as children. Emotional stress/pain are stories you have been carrying around since childhood, they can sound like: “I’m not good enough”, “I need to earn love”, “I will never…”, etc. In order to heal and move on from pain, you need to address your entire being. I believe wellness is a holistic system with three main pillars: movement, nourishment, and emotional health, these knit the soma (body) to the psyche (mind). MM focuses on all three of these pillars in order to help clients mend their relationship with themselves, so they can heal both their emotional and physical bodies. Being healed means MOVING as you did in your youth into old age, it means aligning with your true purpose and power, and becoming WHO you truly are. You are what you eat. Nourishment (food) dictates how you feel, WHAT you are made of, and will size your body. Food is so much more than fuel, food is feeling and nourishment, it is a tiny blueprint for your cells to build a better body.

Psychology

Your inner child and the stories you tell yourself dictate so much of your wellness. We dive deep, to see what subconscious stories you are holding onto in order to allow yourself freedom and self-love.

Breath

Breath is immensely powerful. It brings awareness to your body, fuels your movement, and allows us calm control over our mind and body.
